The Gaze

Owls have an enchanting presence, their gaze piercing yet mysterious. If you are fortunate enough to encounter one, you’ll find their curiosity and focus captivating. Often hidden in plain sight, their exceptional camouflage blends seamlessly with their surroundings, a testament to nature’s artistry. These raptors exude a serene fierceness that’s hard not to admire.

In this piece, I’ve captured the owl’s secretive gaze through the art of pyrography, meticulously burning the image into a 12” by 18” piece of 3/4” plywood. The result is a striking depiction that celebrates both the owl’s enigmatic beauty and the intricate craftsmanship of wood burning.
